How many books could you read in a year?

It’s easy to imagine needing hours of free time to read more. But ten or twenty minutes here and there can quietly turn into a whole shelf of books.

Give me a rough pace and a few reading habits. I’ll show what you might finish without turning a relaxing hobby into homework.

Let’s play with your reading routine

Change any number. Your reading habits are personal, and there’s no prize for finishing fastest.

A little experiment for tonight

Read for fifteen minutes with a book you actually enjoy, then count how many pages you finished. Multiply that number by four to estimate your pages per hour. Use that estimate in the calculator tomorrow. It’s more realistic than trying to match someone else’s reading speed.

Want to remember more of what you read? A one-sentence note, a favorite quote, or a quick conversation about the story is plenty. There’s no reason for a relaxing habit to become another assignment.

What if you’re too busy for daily reading?

That’s why the calculator has a reading days per week choice. Three evenings of reading still count. You might enjoy twenty minutes before bed, a lazy weekend morning, or an audiobook during a commute.

The math simply multiplies the pages you read per sitting by the number of sessions each week and 52 weeks. Books of different lengths, rereading favorite chapters, distractions, and vacations naturally change the real number. This isn’t a standardized reading-speed assessment.

A more comfortable reading corner?

A reading lamp or book stand might make the habit easier to stick with. They’re optional, of course. You don’t need to buy anything to enjoy a library book.
